Safe Escort Services 

At Whitworth, your safety matters. Campus security is here to make sure every student, staff and faculty member feels safe traveling across campus day and night. 

If you ever feel uncomfortable walking alone or find yourself in a situation where you don't feel safe getting from one place to another, we're just a call away.

When you call, the dispatcher or officer will ask for your name, student ID number, where you are (and if you're safe waiting there) and where you need to go. 

Our officers are happy to provide safe escorts within the Whitworth campus boundaries, including university-owned neighborhood houses. 

A safe escort typically involves walking or riding with a campus security officer, at the officer's discretion, to ensure that you reach your destination safely. 

Exclusions

The safe escort service is designed to address personal safety concerns, not as a general means of transportation or as a response to inclement weather.

Limitations

During periods of high demand, officers may have to prioritize urgent calls, which could result in delayed response times. Rest assured, your safe escort is still important – just not as time-sensitive! 

Unfortunately, security vehicles are not wheelchair accessible. If you need accessible transportation, please contact student success & equity for assistance arranging other options.
