Favorite Quote: “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view.” –Harper Lee
Favorite College Courses: World Literatures and cultures, 20th Century Poetry, Music History, Literary translation, and creative writing.
Favorite Spokane Activities: Spokane is an amazing combination of city and country—I love visiting its many great restaurants, shops, pubs, and music venues, but also being able to take a short drive to the mountains to relax and reset.
Favorite Spokane Restaurants: I love international food, and for a smaller city, Spokane has some awesome options!
Favorite thing about Whitworth: The small, close-knit community that feels like family. Students not only get a world class education, but they truly get to know their professors and are involved in the community around them.
Advice for Whitworth applicants: As an international student looking to study in the US, the options can seem overwhelming. I would encourage you to think about where your best fit might be. If you’re someone who wants a closer connection with your peers and professors, and lots of opportunities to grow as a person, Whitworth might just be a great fit for you! When it doubt, reach out and ask questions. As an Admissions counselor I’m here to guide you through the process and help in any way I can.
Free for all: For four years I taught literature and writing to university and high school students in Bangladesh, Mongolia, and Taiwan, and had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Asia. I am passionate about diversity, travel, and intercultural education, and love assisting international students and families at all stages of their educational journey. I know what it feels like to leave the familiar behind and adjust to a new environment. You are welcome here!
