We have so many reasons to be thankful here at Whitworth. This past year's fundraising total was the second-highest in the last five years, and restricted giving (designated to projects, programs and funds) was the highest in five years, at just over $10M. While the number of donors was down a bit from the previous year, we avoided the steep decline in donors that has been a national trend.
We know that fulfilling Whitworth's call to provide each of our students with their own chance to engage both mind and heart would not be possible without the generous assistance of alumni, parents and friends. The Whitworth Foundation upholds Whitworth University's vital mission of educating the minds and hearts of students. Since 1972, the foundation has helped alumni and friends define their legacy through establishing deferred gifts that benefit the donor today and the university for years to come. The foundation staff, along with an experienced and knowledgeable volunteer board of directors, works with donors to develop gift plans based on their financial objectives, tax considerations and deep desire to support Whitworth.
