Career Opportunities
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, physical therapy employment is projected to grow 18 percent from 2019 to 2029, a faster rate than average for all occupations.
"Demand for physical therapists is expected to come from aging baby boomers, who are not only staying active later in life but are susceptible to health conditions, such as orthopedic, sport injuries, strokes and other neurological conditions and other conditions that occur in all body systems across the lifespan. In addition, physical therapists will be needed to treat people with mobility issues stemming from chronic conditions, such as diabetes or obesity."
Physical therapists support individuals looking to enhance physical performance and prevent illnesses and injury that can be reduced through exercise, physical activity or pain management. Salaries continue to be strong for doctors of physical therapy as noted in the Bureau of Labor Statistics with national mean salaries of $89,440 and in Washington state of $88,220.
