The Whitworth Center for Career & Professional Development offers a wide variety of ways for students to interact with employers, setting them up for career success. Save the date now for each of these sponsored events, then check back at the beginning of September for specific times and locations.

August
Aug. 30 – Welcome Fair at New Student Orientation: Get assistance with Handshake, ask career peer coaches how to get a job on campus, and get résumé and cover letter guidance.
September
Sept. 1 – Career Center Open House: Meet the career center staff and career peer coaches. Ask questions about jobs, résumés, cover letters, events and student employment paperwork. Career center, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sept. 3 – Career Center Table: Need an internship? Come see us! Ask career peer coaches how to get a job on campus and learn more about how the career center can help you. HUB Lied Square, 10:30 a.m.-noon.
Sept. 5 – Donut & Career Tips: Grab a free donut and learn about upcoming events and how to prepare! Schedule an appointment for résumé and cover letter guidance and help finding jobs. HUB Lied Square, 10:30 a.m.-noon.
Sept. 17 – Job & Internship Fair. HUB Multipurpose Room, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Sept. 23 – Knot Your Average Workshop: Suit Up & Tie It Right. HUB Multipurpose Room, 6:30-8 p.m.
Sept. 23-24 – Washington State Legislature Internship Program: Hear about internship opportunities with the Washington State Legislature. HUB Lied Square, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Sept. 30 – Polished Style for the Professional Woman. HUB Multipurpose Room, 6:30-8 p.m.
October
Oct. 1 – ProCloset Scholarship Available for Fall Term: Provides Whitworth students up to $50 for the purchase of professional clothing. Apply on Handshake.
Oct. 7 – Networking 101: Communication Skills that Open Doors. HUB Multipurpose Room, 6:30-8 p.m.
Oct. 31 – Donut & Career Tips: Grab a free donut and learn about upcoming events and how to prepare! Schedule an appointment for résumé and cover letter guidance and help finding jobs. HUB Lied Square, 10:30 a.m.-noon.

Nov. 7-9 – Startup Weekend: Join a team of peers and submit your startup ideas at this “Shark Tank – Pirate Version” weekend. Located in the HUB Multipurpose Room.

January

Feb. 17 – Internship Fair: Find an internship by meeting employers looking for summer and fall 2026 or spring 2027 interns. Bring your résumé and dress professionally. HUB Multipurpose Room, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

March 4 – FUSE Career Fair: Over 150 employers will be ready to recruit soon-to-graduate Pirates at this region-wide career fair. Located at the Davenport Grand Hotel, downtown Spokane.
