The Whitworth University Art Department and the university’s Bryan Oliver Gallery are proud to present the work of Squeak Meisel.
Meisel, an associate professor of fine art at Washington State University, has several permanently sited public works in the Seattle area. Through his art, he playfully addresses the daily struggles of life through immersive works that invite his viewers to participate in their own inner spelunking.
Of the immortals exhibit, the artist writes, “On this journey you will see me dancing patterns of the stars in order to fly into the sky and tunnel beneath the earth; you will encounter tigers, bears and skunks, and the weather patterns of the unconscious of a single individual.”
The exhibition runs from September 12 to November 3, 2017. The gallery is open from 10am-6pm, Monday-Friday, and 10am-2pm on Saturdays (closed on official University holidays).
