1st Smokeout was in California in 1976 when the Division of the American Cancer Society got about 1 million people to stop smoking for the day. This day went nationwide in 1977. The goal is to protect non-smokers and to support smokers who want to quit.
This event will host Spokane's City Council President, Ben Stuckart; who will share his smoking cessation story. This event will also have music, lunch food, education/supportive/resourceful booths on tobacco/vape/E-cigarettes, and chances to win a raffle.
