The Significance of Food Waste, with ASWU Sustainability

Be a part of the discussion about how the Whitworth community can reduce their food waste production and how it impacts many areas of our lives.

-Informative introduction about how food waste impacts different aspects of our life, including impacting businesses (monetary and economical), the environment with carbon emissions, water waste, families, and what this all says about how our society is structured and runs, including considering the role of socioeconomic status on food access.
-Documentary viewing of "Wasted: The Story of Food Waste", which discusses the previously introduced topics and empower the audience to create change.
-Eco Reps and ASWU Sustainability will lead a discussion after the viewing about:
-What people can do in their daily lives to reduce their production of food waste and encourage others.
-Learn about how we can spread the word across campus and carry this message beyond Whitworth into our adult lives.
-Making commitments on small action steps to change habits.
