SUMMARY OF POSITION: The School of Business at Whitworth University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Finance. PRIMARY TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES: The successful candidate will be an expert in applied finance who is excited about teaching and mentoring students. Possible courses include: corporate finance, real estate finance, derivatives, financial statement analysis, advanced financial statement analysis, and financial management. The Whitworth Student Investment Group (WSIG), which is open to all majors at the university, is one of the few student led investment clubs in the U.S. The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) team sponsored by WSIG has won the Regional CFA Research Challenge for the last seven years. The Biology Department at Whitworth University invites applicants who are passionate about teaching plant biology to a diverse group of undergraduate biologists. The successful candidate will teach introductory plant biology and upper division plant taxonomy and physiology, with the potential to teach genetics or other courses in a specialized area of their expertise. We are seeking scholars who will bring a robust research program that will actively engage and mentor undergraduate students. We work to support our faculty in research by offering resources to encourage productivity, peer-reviewed dissemination of results, and the pursuit of external funding. We also seek candidates that value evolutionary theory as foundational to an education in biology. Whitworth University seeks an Assistant Professor of Modern American History since 1877 for a Track II, full-time position (7 courses annually) in the Department of History with a focus on race, ethnicity, and/or indigeneity. We are particularly interested in candidates specializing in African American, Native American, LatinX and/or ChicanX, Asian American, or Immigration history. Candidates who also have an interest in women’s and/or gender history, LGBTQ+ history, religious history, and/or cultural history approaches would be particularly valued, along with clearly demonstrated interest or expertise in the Digital Humanities and/or Public History. Reporting to the Dean of the School of Education, the Associate Dean of Graduate Counseling and Leadership oversees our counseling, non-profit leadership, and educational administration graduate programs, participating in governance within the School of Education (SOE) and the larger university. In addition, this position serves as the School of Education Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, leading our DEI efforts. This position provides leadership and support for our graduate Marriage and Family Therapy, School Counseling, Social Emotional Learning, Administrative and Non-Profit Leadership, and Educational Admin programs, including budget management, resource advocacy, and faculty development and support. This position also supervises staff in assigned programs. Reporting to the Dean of the SOE, the Margo Long Chair in Gifted Education is an experienced, dynamic, visionary teacher and scholar providing a local, regional, and national voice in gifted education. This position is fully funded by an endowment provided to Whitworth University. It is named in honor of Professor Emeritus Margo Long, the founder of the Center for Gifted Education at Whitworth and a beloved faculty member at the University for over 30 years. Working with our Director of our Gifted Education program, the Margo Long chair will focus in three main areas: 1. Pursuing strong, innovative research aimed at furthering an understanding of gifted education programming and equitable instructional practices; 2. Overseeing our regular Whitworth Center for Gifted Education Institutes aimed at professional development for educators across the state and nation, and; 3.
