Whitworth University Five-Year Strategic Plan

Whitworth's mission is to provide our diverse student body an education of mind and heart, equipping our graduates to honor God, follow Christ and serve humanity.

Message from President Scott McQuilkin

Dear Friends of Whitworth,

On behalf of the Whitworth Board of Trustees, I am pleased to share with you Whitworth University's 2023-28 strategic plan. The plan is anchored in our Christian mission, which is the center of everything we do: our programming, our stewardship of university resources, our commitment to our people, and the ways in which we communicate Whitworth's educational experience.

The strategic plan was built through a yearlong collaborative process under the leadership of Whitworth's University Council. The plan contains 22 objectives organized under four broad goal areas: Innovation & Learning; Human Flourishing; Financial Flourishing; and Story. Through the execution of this plan, Whitworth will hold fast to its Christ-centered identity while advancing in a host of programmatic, systematic, relational and financial ways.

Whitworth's strategic plan reflects opportunities and challenges specific to this season. Given the volatility of today's higher education landscape, the plan was built to focus and inform our work for five years. This plan does not explicitly reference every area of university programming, operations or investments, nor is the plan intended to provide a marketing description of the university overall. Rather, the plan focuses upon key strategic elements that we believe necessitate particular attention, in human and capital resourcing, for future successes.

With anticipation and confidence in advancing our service to our students, our faculty and staff, our alumni and supporters, our external constituencies, and to the God in whom we have our life, breath and being,

Scott
