Barbara L. Richter
Barbara Richter ’77 retired in November 2017 after 35 years with The Procter & Gamble Distributing Company in various management roles.
She was a district manager from July 1991 to June 2009 and had sales-management responsibility for the seven northwest states for P&G Professional. Her responsibilities included recruitment, hiring, and training a sales force of 20 account managers and three sales managers.
Richter was then promoted and served as the center of excellence leader from June 2009 to November 2017. In this position, she managed the healthcare and education segments in the U.S. and Canada for P&G Professional. This included developing "go to market" strategies, leading a multi-functional team (sales, finance, marketing, product development, customer business development and logistics), and developing industry relationships throughout North America. Under her management, the company doubled their sales volume and profitability over seven years.
Richter attended Whitworth University and received her bachelor's degree in recreation and physical education.
Currently, she is a board member on the Legacy Foundation at Bellevue Presbyterian Church in Bellevue, Wash.
