Daria Brown

Daria Brown '98 opened her own CPA practice in 2021 with over 25 years of public accounting experience. Prior to this, she was with Fruci and Associates of Spokane from 2014 to 2021 and worked closely with the internship program recruiting and training candidates from Whitworth University and other schools. As a former partner with Schmitz & Buck CPAs, LLC, located in Juneau, Alaska, she brings a strong background in business and individual tax planning, tax return preparation, compilations, estate and trust accounting, and business consulting. She builds long-term relationships with her clients and assists them with problem-solving and reaching their financial goals.

Brown holds a bachelor’s degree from Whitworth University with dual majors in accounting and business management. During her first year at Whitworth, she helped start the women’s softball program by creating a club team with a small group of softball players. She has served as board treasurer of Prodigy Northwest, president for NAWBO NW (National Association of Women Business Owners) and is a member of the Spokane Estate Planning Council. She holds her CPA licenses in Washington and Idaho and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In her free time, she opened Once Upon a Shoe LLC in June of 2018. Located in Hayden, Idaho, the women’s shoe boutique specializes in style without compromising comfort.
