The Dornsife Center for Community Engagement hosts service trips for students to participate in during Fall Break, Jan Term Break and Spring Break. These trips allow students the opportunity to expand their education and sense of cultural awareness by staying and serving in and around Spokane.
If you are interested in participating in an alternative break trip, contact the Impact Trip coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
2017-18 Impact Trips will be addressing:
- Fall Break: Transportation Challenges - get to know Spokane through the city bus system, stay in a neighborhood classified as a "food desert," connect with local nonprofits serving low-income families, and experience the challeges faced by our neighbors who rely solely on public transportation.
- Jan Term Break: TBD
- Spring Break: Put Down Roots - Stay downtown at Spokane's First Presbyterian Church and explore the diverse ways in which our city meets the needs of the homeless, refugees, youth, and workers in the hotel and service industries. With time for both volunteer service and personal and group reflection, you'll be challenged to identify your own bias and privileges while taking on the perspectives of those you meet.
Applications coming soon!
