Impact Trips
The Dornsife Center for Community Engagement hosts service trips for students to participate in during Fall Break, Jan Term Break and Spring Break. These trips allow students the opportunity to expand their education and sense of cultural awareness by staying and serving in Spokane.
Over Fall Break, Jan Term Break and Spring Break, we will explore Spokane through different populations' perspectives. We will explore issues surrounding homelessness and poverty in our community, and hear about life in West Central from residents. Participants will also be exposed to the stories of single mothers, the LGBTQ community and refugees. Impact trips will provide an opportunity for students to serve with nonprofit organizations, dine with active community members and learn about the city’s history. Throughout the trip, students will be given several chances to reflect on their experiences and how they have shaped their role in society.
Each trip has a unique opportunities, so participants are welcome to return on future trips!
