Emergency and After-Hours Resources

If the situation is a major (life-threatening) emergency, call 911 regardless of the time of day.

If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, please call 911 or the Whitworth Counseling Center 24/7 Mental Health Access Line at 509.777.3259, press 1.

For after-hours care due to illness or minor emergency, we recommend the following:

  • Inform your resident assistant.
  • Providence Urgent Care is located at 551 E. Hawthorne Road, one mile east of Whitworth. The phone number is 509.489.2369. The clinic is open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Be sure to have your insurance card(s) with you. Some insurance companies require preauthorization for non-life-threatening situations; read your primary insurance card carefully and call your company in advance, if you are required to do so.

If you have been involved in an accident: Full-time undergraduates, international students, and master-in-teaching students are enrolled in a mandatory accident-insurance policy (EIIA) through Whitworth. You must complete a claim form for payment. (Access the form by clicking here.) Students with the Hard Waiver Supplemental Sickness and Accident Policy through Whitworth must also complete and submit a claim form.
