Danny stands in the studio and smiles.Whether on or off the Whitworth campus, invites listeners to enjoy a wide range of music and news delivered exclusively by Whitworth students. The online radio station is staffed by student-DJs and is currently led by general manager Danny Parker, '15. In addition to their staffing duties, the students participate in a weekly class.

"I was excited by all the possible opportunities working in radio, and really offers that: making playlists, using sound equipment, and learning about a new field of media," Parker says. "This is more than a class, it is a functioning media organization."

Not only does provide quality content to faculty, students, alumni and broader general audiences, it also emphasizes hands-on experience to students interested in working in broadcasting. is geared toward students interested in careers in new media beyond radio, since much of the work involves growing audiences and learning new ways to reach them in the digital age.

"When the position of general manager opened up, I stepped forward because I thought I could make a positive change for the program," Parker says. "By no means do I think that I have it all figured out, but I hope to rebuild a solid foundation upon which future students can continue to grow the program." broadcasts online and also across Whitworth's campus, with recent additions including the Hixson Union Building's Mind & Hearth coffee house, the dining hall, and the Multipurpose Room.

"I think that by the end of the year we will have a very solid foundation to build upon, and take Whitworth radio to new heights," says Parker, who will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in visual rhetoric and digital storytelling.
