- Jim Edwards, '67, Ph.D., presents "The First Christian Generation: From Jesus to the Church," his final lecture as the Bruner-Welch Endowed Chair in Theology. Edwards is a professor of theology at Whitworth. His latest book, "The Hebrew Gospel and the Development of the Synoptic Tradition," presents groundbreaking research which greatly challenges traditional views of the synoptic gospels that, until his book's publication, were generally assumed to be true.

|
- Dr. Jim Shaw presents a lecture, "Medicine as a Ministry." Shaw is the recipient of Whitworth's 2014 Distinguished Community Service Award. As the former medical director of the Providence Center for Faith and Healing, he created an interdisciplinary approach to caring for patients holistically. He founded the palliative care program at Spokane's Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in 2007, and in 2010 he was one of five physicians to be honored with the Cambia Health Foundation's Sojourns Award.

Sustainability Lecture by Elaine Ingham
|
- Elaine Ingham, Ph.D., presents a lecture, "The Soil Food Web and Compost Tea." Ingham is a soil biology researcher and founder of Soil Foodweb, Inc., which works with soil-testing laboratories to assess soil biology. She is known as a leader in soil microbiology and research of the soil food web, and she is an author of the USDA's "Soil Biology Primer." In 2011, Ingham was named The Rodale Institute's chief scientist.

- Whitworth Professor of Political Science Julia Stronks presents the Lindaman Chair Lecture, "Christians, Public Policy and Sexual Identity: Why Loving the Sinner Doesn't Do It for Me Anymore." As Whitworth's Lindaman Chair, Stronks has written nearly 100 articles that have appeared in a wide variety of North American print and online publications; her writing focuses on faith-based approaches to contemporary political issues. She has also co-authored a book, "Teaching to Justice, Citizenship, and Civic Virtue: The Character of a High School Through the Eyes of Faith," which is forthcoming in October 2014.
