School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences prepares graduates to serve people and communities in a wide variety of health and wellness careers. The school includes four academic departments:

• Undergraduate department of health sciences (B.S. in health science, B.A. in community health)
• Department of athletic training (MSAT)
• Department of occupational therapy (OTD)
• Department of physical therapy (DPT)

Through mission-driven programs of excellence, students in the School of Health Sciences explore their discipline through the study of natural and social sciences. Students engage in evidence-based study of the human body, our social communities, and connections to holistic health and wellness. Graduates live out Whitworth's mind-and-heart mission as advocates for the health and wellness of their clients, patients and communities through equitable, just and compassionate care for all people.

The mission of the Whitworth University School of Health Sciences is to prepare diverse graduates for dedicated lives of service in health and wellness careers. Programs of academic and clinical excellence, delivered with an education of the mind and heart, help students incorporate values, ethics and professionalism into the practice of their vocation.
