Art & Design Department
The Whitworth Art & Design Department faculty believe that to excel in the arts one must have an environment that encourages rigorous and creative exploration, develops self-expression, and engages in critical and analytical dialogues about art and design. To foster this environment, our faculty gets to know you in the classroom and studio, as well as through academic advising and mentorship. Our curriculum is tiered, beginning with courses in foundations, including several seminars for networking with peers and professionals in the arts, and ending with a capstone course in professional practice to propel you into a successful and sustainable career. The department also has benchmarks and awards for excellence as you begin your lifelong practice in the arts.
