What is social/relational wellbeing?
Wellness in the social/relational dimension is the ability to build a network of support, based on interdependence, mutual respect, and trust with your friends, family, and coworkers. Developing a sensitivity and awareness toward others’ feelings is another feature of social wellness. Social connections help us deal with stress and keep us healthy.
What can I do to be socially/relationally well?
Here are some tips for staying socially/relationally well:
- Make time for social connection
- Join an interest or activity-based group
- Attend campus events
- Get to know your classmates, professors, others in your residence hall
- Be open, non-judgmental, and kind
