DoDEA Student Guaranteed Admissions & Scholarship Program

At Whitworth University, we believe true exploration begins with bold questions and a heart for service. As part of this commitment, we proudly offer the DoDEA High School Guaranteed Admissions Program and the Whitworth DoDEA Leadership Scholarship
 
For fall 2025:

  • All graduates from DoDEA high schools with a 3.4 GPA or above are guaranteed admission.
  • In addition to Whitworth's generous University Scholarships and grants, DoDEA high school graduates are eligible for consideration for the DoDEA Leadership Award, which is need-based and provides up to $2,000 per year ($8,000 total).

We're Here for You

We don't just say we are a close-knit community… we have the evidence to back it up:

  • Need a ride from the airport to Whitworth? No problem. We'll pick you up.
  • Can't make it back home for Thanksgiving? We've got you. Associate Director Phil Labrie and Vice President Josh Hibbard will host you for Thanksgiving. Our DoDEA students are also eligible to stay in the residence halls during university breaks.
  • Need help in understanding the complexity of financial aid and GI Bill benefits? We're here to assist. Phil Labrie will provide personalized guidance on your benefits and how to manage the cost of college.
  • Military-connected students will feel at home in our Military & Veterans Resource Center (MAVRC). Join us for fun gatherings like Taco Tuesdays, chili cook-offs and barbecue on the patio.

Interested in ROTC?

The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) programs at Whitworth are designed to prepare you to serve as an officer in the U.S. Armed Forces. Joining ROTC gives you the opportunity to enter the Armed Forces as an officer and leader after you graduate, serving your country while gaining valuable management skills and experience. Students who qualify may be eligible to receive ROTC scholarships that can cover the cost of education.
