Community Building Day
Every September, on the fourth Friday of the month, Whitworth pauses morning classes to give back to the Spokane community. What began as a campus beautification effort has grown into Community Building Day – a signature tradition that brings students, faculty and staff together in service.
This day is especially meaningful for first-year and transfer students, offering a hands-on way to connect with their new home and learn about the issues and opportunities that matter most to our neighbors. Linked to our Flourishing Life course, these few hours of service make a lasting impact, both for students and for the 40+ local nonprofits that partner with us each year.
