Bill Robinson is president emeritus of Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. He served as Whitworth's 17th president, from 1993 to 2010, after serving as president of Manchester University, in Indiana, from 1986 to 1993.
Currently, Bill's work-life consists of speaking, consulting, serving as board chair of Princeton Theological Seminary, and sitting on the boards of the Stewardship Foundation and the Voya Educators Advisory Board. In 2010, a second edition of Robinson's book Leading People from the Middle: The Universal Mission of Mind and Heart was released. In February 2009, Incarnate Leadership was published by Zondervan (Harper Collins).
Bill is married to Bonnie Robinson, principal organist at the First Presbyterian Church of Spokane. They have three married children and six grandchildren. Daughter Brenna, Whitworth Class of 2000, is a Presbyterian minister married to Alan Stanfield, '97, offensive coordinator for the Whitworth football team. Son Ben, '03, is a Presbyterian minister at Urban Grace, in Tacoma, and is married to Emily Hinson, '04, a doctor of nursing practice at a community health clinic. Daughter Bailley (Pepperdine, 2006) runs a community-outreach program at Gonzaga University and is married to Mike Wootton, ’04, a photographer who teaches and coaches at St. George’s School.
