Mentorship Visit Program Frequently Asked Questions

When and where should I arrive for MVP?

Please arrive on campus at the Hixson Union Building (HUB) Multipurpose Room no later than Sunday, March 17, for 1 p.m. check in. When you turn in to Whitworth's main entrance from Hawthorne Road, the HUB is located on your left as the road curves. Please let us know if you're running late so that we can make necessary adjustments. Please call the Whitworth Office of Admissions at 509.777.4786.

Where should I park? Do I need a parking permit?

A parking permit will be emailed to you ahead of time and will also be available at the event. Feel free to park in lots A1, A2, B1 or H1; additional parking is available elsewhere throughout campus. For a map of campus and available parking lots, please see www.whitworth.edu/campus-map.

What is the Mentorship Visit Program schedule?

To view the great MVP events that await you, please visit the MVP Schedule page. In addition, a detailed schedule of events will be provided when you check in.

Will I be able to stay overnight on campus?

Yes! Overnight visits are available for this event on a first-come, first-served basis. Prior arrangements are required through the individual event registration forms.

Guests will need to arrange their own overnight accommodations; a list of recommended places can be found by clicking here.

Can my parents/guest come with me?

Yes. Parents and/or guests are welcome to visit campus with you and will be provided dinner on Sunday and lunch on Monday.

How will I get to campus?

Please visit our Directions to Campus page.

Are there any costs I need to cover?

There are no costs for students attending MVP.

We know that the best possible way to learn whether Whitworth is a good college fit for you is to visit campus. We also know that travel isn't cheap and some families may need financial assistance to make a campus visit possible.

We are committed to reimbursing a significant amount of travel expenses for every admitted high school senior and transfer student who participates in a full-day or overnight visit event following their admission for fall 2024. Click here for more information.

Is this a formal event?

This is a casual campus visit meant to help you experience what college is like, so please feel free to dress comfortably. Spokane's weather in the spring can be unpredictable, so just be sure to pack accordingly (tip: layers and a coat).

What should I do if I have free time in my schedule?

Make yourself at home! Stroll down the Hello Walk and eavesdrop on a professor and student discussing Plato's metaphysics as they walk between classes. Visit the HUB where you can grab a treat from the Mind & Hearth Coffee House and hang out with students socializing around the fireplace.
