Campus Visit Travel Reimbursement

We know that the best possible way to learn whether Whitworth is a good college fit for you is to visit campus. We also know that travel isn't cheap and some families may need financial assistance to make a campus visit possible.

We are committed to reimbursing a significant amount of travel expenses for every admitted high school senior and transfer student who participates in a full-day or overnight visit event following their admission for spring or fall 2024. This travel reimbursement may be used for one visit to campus. The deadline to attend a qualifying visit event and receive a campus visit travel reimbursement for first-year students enrolling in fall 2024 is June 1, 2024, and the deadline for transfer students enrolling in fall 2024 is Aug. 1, 2024. The deadline for all students enrolling in spring 2025 is Dec. 9, 2024. 

Travel reimbursements are available in the following amounts:

Washington and North Idaho (outside of Spokane/Coeur d'Alene region) $150
Oregon and Southern Idaho $250
Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming $350
All other U.S. states and international countries $500

Please note that reimbursable expenses include airfare, gas, rental car or lodging. Meal expenses cannot be reimbursed.

To receive a travel reimbursement, you must:

  1. Apply and be admitted to enroll as a first-year or transfer student for spring or fall 2024 prior to the visit event for which you are requesting reimbursement.
  2. Register for and attend a full-day or overnight campus visit event at Whitworth. Please note that daily tours do not qualify. Qualifying visit events include:
  3. Upload receipts for student travel expenses and complete the online travel reimbursement form that will be emailed to you after your visit. The travel reimbursement form must be completed within 30 days of your campus visit.
