Printing & Copying
Feel free to email, call or stop by and consult with our printing experts before embarking on a project. We're happy to help with ideas in the beginning stages and can sometimes save you money, in addition to frustration. For help with design, take advantage of marketing & communications' graphic design services.

Services like bookleting, folding, cutting and hole-punching are performed by precisely calibrated commercial machines. They can save your department a lot of time, so don't be afraid to take advantage of them. We also have quite a few paper options, so please stop by and peruse the selection.
Timeline & Delivery
Basic black-and-white jobs usually have a same-day turnaround if ordered before noon. Color jobs and projects involving cutting, bookleting and spiraling typically require a longer turnaround depending upon our workload and staffing.
Delivery to campus goes out between 2:30-3 p.m. Pickup is available during our operating hours.
Bulk Paper Ordering
Bulk paper orders are delivered for free on Wednesdays by facilities services. For delivery on other weekdays a nominal charge is assessed. Smaller paper orders can either be picked up at the print shop or included in the afternoon copy job deliveries.
The print shop also has logo notecards and thank you notecards, along with matching envelopes. These can be ordered using the Bulk Paper Order Form, in quantities from 1 to 500.
Toner & Copier Supplies
The print shop maintains the campus supply of copier toners and staples for the machines that are leased from H&H. Contact Allison Brier at firstname.lastname@example.org with your copier's model number and/or toner cartridge number (they are often different) and the toner or staples needed.
For HP printer supplies, contact Terry Norton in information systems at email@example.com.
What kind of file should I deliver to be printed?
The preferred file type is a PDF. Word, Excel, Publisher and some JPEG files can also be printed.
Why is there a blank border around my document?
Our copiers can't print to the very edge of documents, so be sure to allow at least a quarter-inch blank border around the edges of the document.
Can I submit a print or copy job for personal needs?
Personal jobs can be printed here, but they take a lower priority to university jobs. During extremely busy times (start of semester, finals, etc.), you may be asked to come back another time. To pay for your job, we accept cash, checks and debit (for orders over $5).
I want to use the commercial cutter. Should I include cut lines?
No, please do not include cut lines or boxes around text. Our precisely calibrated commercial cutter will ensure the cuts are accurate.
My design is fairly small. Can you print more than one per page?
Yes, a file designed with smaller proportions can be “imposed" multiple times on a single sheet and then cut (using our commercial cutter) into smaller sizes.
The mail center provides bulk mailing service and UPS, USPS, FedEx and DHL services, which together cover mailing needs both domestic and international. We also provide a wide selection of envelopes.
Bulk mailing saves the university a substantial amount of money each year, so we encourage departments to use this service. The following information is important to ensure your bulk mailing goes out on time. If you have questions, please contact us.
Bulk mailings must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 200 pieces
- Body of the letter or mailing is identical for all pieces
- Content must be relevant to Whitworth University
Due to the complexities of sending bulk mailings, we also require the following:
- Designate a dispatch date that falls on either a Monday or Thursday.
- All pieces and address lists must be received by the mail center at least one week prior to the dispatch date.
Personal Packages & Expedited Mailing
Personal packages can be processed at the mail center, but they take lower priority to official Whitworth mailings. Your package may be delayed due to high volume in the mail center, and we will always let you know about such a delay. We do not receive any incoming packages. Questions regarding incoming mail can be directed to the post office in the HUB at 509.777.3279.
All expedited mailings (i.e., mailings that need to arrive the next day) must be received in the mail center by 1 p.m.
The mail center accepts cash, check ($25 limit for students) and debit ($5 minimum). Credit cards are not accepted at this time.
